What’s trending in kitchen design?
Roundhouse is design-led and has a signature understated look influenced by contemporary architecture and design. We’re at the forefront of new and emerging trends in kitchen design and we’re often asked to comment by national newspapers and style magazines. We manufacture bespoke kitchens and other furniture in our own UK factory, where we combine the latest manufacturing techniques with traditional cabinet making skills. As a result we can be very innovative with use of materials and our R & D team can develop bespoke finishes unique to Roundhouse.
Emerging trends include an urban, industrial look including textured or metallic finishes, with polished concrete work surfaces or floors and vintage stools. There’s also a slightly retro feel for contemporary bespoke kitchens; a matt painted finish with timber lipping and sliding doors – reminiscent of smart mid century furniture.
As kitchens are now a social space, the trend is for open-plan, with zoned areas for cooking, dining and general living. This means that the kitchen furniture needs to look as good as it can, as it is often part of the general living space in many homes.
